BEING, RELATING, ACTING: the partnership between Futureberry and TSM comes to life in Trento

What does it mean to lead in a world that’s constantly changing?
How do we guide a transition toward sustainability that is concrete, inclusive, and transformative?

These are questions we often ask ourselves at Futureberry.
And they’re the same questions that shaped the project we’re building together with TSM – Trentino School of Management: a learning journey designed for those who live at the heart of change, and feel the need for new tools – and new lenses – to face it.

A project designed to support transformation

The program is called “Soft skills for inspiring change”, and it’s part of a broader initiative supported by APPA (Trentino’s Environmental Protection Agency) and Trentino Sviluppo, aimed at training future Sustainability Transition Managers.

A new but increasingly necessary role: someone who can guide the cultural and organizational transformation of companies, public institutions, and communities – with a deep understanding of complexity, people, and long-term impact.

That’s where we come in. Futureberry was invited to design and facilitate three sessions of the program: experiential moments that go far beyond traditional lectures and focus instead on the individual, the relationship, and the action.

The first chapter: BEING

On June 3rd, the first in-person session took place in Trento: a full day dedicated to “BEING”, the module focused on personal leadership.
Not the kind of leadership defined by status or hierarchy, but one grounded in vision, adaptability, and self-awareness.

We worked on one core question: How can I become a generative presence in constantly evolving systems?

And we did it in our own way: with custom-designed board games, hands-on exercises, the Hermann model for exploring thinking and communication styles, and collective debriefs to make meaning together.

Because when we talk about leadership, it’s not enough to discuss it – we have to live it, try it, sometimes fail at it.
That’s how we build the trust – in ourselves and in others – that fuels any real transformation.

Looking inward to create impact outward

Our contribution to this project is rooted in a belief we’ve carried with us since the beginning: organizational change starts with personal change.

That’s why we’ve been exploring and applying the IDGs – Inner Development Goals framework in many of our initiatives.
It’s a compass that helps people and organizations cultivate the inner capacities needed to address the challenges of the 2030 Agenda.

Without self-awareness, without critical thinking, without openness to the unfamiliar, there can be no sustainable innovation – only another buzzword added to the list.

What’s next: RELATING and ACTING

This is just the beginning. In the coming weeks we’ll return to Trento to lead the next two sessions of the program:

  • RELATING (June 10), a day focused on negotiation and conflict management, exploring how to navigate tensions and build effective relationships without avoiding or escalating.
  • ACTING (June 17), where we’ll dive into ecological transition as a driver of innovation, helping participants see sustainability not just as an obligation, but as a creative force for transformation.

As with the first session, we’ll bring our signature approach: a blend of lateral thinking, practical tools, active listening, and real engagement.

A project that feels like home

We’re proud to be part of this journey – because it reflects who we are.
Because it’s serious without being rigid.
Because it cares about people before it cares about performance.
Because it creates learning spaces where it’s okay to laugh, question, and experiment.

In a world constantly demanding quick answers, we’re still choosing to ask better questions.
And to do it together with people who, like us, believe that innovation is far more human than we’ve been led to think.
